As a country, we have been talking about our crumbling infrastructure without taking any action for far too long.

Team,

As a country, we have been talking about our crumbling infrastructure without taking any action for far too long.

We had even gotten to the point where “infrastructure week” had become something of a running joke. In fact, in 2019 the New York Times wrote, “At this point in the Trump presidency, “Infrastructure Week” is less a date on the calendar than it is a “Groundhog Day”-style fever dream doomed to be repeated.”

And then, Democrats took the House, the Senate, and the White House. Suddenly the joke is over, thanks to the Democratic House Majority’s passage of a historic and bipartisan $1 trillion investment in our infrastructure nationwide.

Democrats ran on the promise of historic investment in our roads, bridges, broadband, and utility systems. And now, Democrats have delivered.

Here in Rhode Island, we are set to receive $2 billion in federal investments in our infrastructure to improve the safety of our roads and bridges, upgrade our water and utility systems, and fight climate change.

The passage of this bill shows what we can do if we work together — with Democrats leading the way.

Will you contribute today to protect our Democratic majority and ensure that we can continue to build upon this progress for years to come?
