States United to Prevent Gun Violence

Hi, John-

Today is the last day of October. Yes, it's Halloween. But more importantly, it's the last day of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Some 52 women a month are shot and killed by their romantic partners.

How romantic is that?

I can get pretty darned depressed thinking about the hideous intersection between guns and intimate partner and domestic violence.

But then I remember my heroes--our nonstop grassroots state leaders.

They work every day to keep women--and everyone else--safe from gun violence in their homes and in their communities.

When I think about our state gun violence prevention leaders, I stop feeling scared and feel proud instead.

Happy Halloween, everyone.

Be safe.

Karen
