Congress needs to act with the same urgency to invest in the infrastructure of our democracy that they just put into shoring up physical infrastructure.

John,
The news this week is full of smiling faces in Washington as President Biden signs the infrastructure bill to repair roads and bridges — meanwhile, the infrastructure holding up our democracy is crumbling and collapsing around us.
The far-right conservative Supreme Court majority attacked what was left of the Voting Rights Act in its partisan, 6-3 Brnovich v. DNC decision earlier this year. And more egregious, harmful rulings and lopsided judicial review on fundamental civil rights issues have followed.
The only way to prevent these conservative judicial activists from further weaponizing the bench against the infrastructure of our democracy is to expand the Supreme Court. That’s why today would be a very good day for more members of Congress to join the 42 sponsors of the Judiciary Act.
Can you add your name to our petition to Congress to pass the Judiciary Act today? We need everyone to speak up to keep up the momentum!
In a study of 80 recent SCOTUS cases resulting in 5-4 partisan decisions with Republican donor interests at stake, the conservative justices have ruled with the donors 100% of the time. Since the Court began dismantling the Voting Rights Act, Republican-controlled state and local governments are denying Americans the right to vote more and more.
We’re witnessing the laws and institutions undergirding and safeguarding our democracy teeter and collapse one by one. Now our leaders in Congress need to act with the same urgency to invest in the infrastructure of our democracy that they just put into shoring up physical infrastructure.
No piece of our democratic infrastructure is safe until we expand the Court. Adding four seats to the Supreme Court is the only solution that will immediately reverse its theft by the GOP, taking the Court back from right-wing justices who continue to thwart the will of the people.
Add your name to our petition to Congress to pass the Judiciary Act now so we can safeguard the infrastructure of our democracy.
Without adding seats, all the physical infrastructure in the world won’t keep our democracy safe.
Thank you for using your voice today,
Sarah Lipton-Lubet
