Cost of Thanksgiving Dinner Rises Twice as Fast as Wages  Inflation is political. The Biden administration is now working hand in hand with the central bank to allow the government to spend enormous quantities of money without, right now, raising taxes outright. Families that experienced a rise in the cost of living exceeding their income this past year will continue to feel the consequences of this so-called transitory inflation for years to come. All of the left-wing spending proposals risk more of the same. Heritage Expert: Joel Griffith

Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization: An Opportunity to Correct a Grave Error – Roe v. Wade remains one of the most controversial judicial decisions in American history. After being told for 50 years that abortion is a constitutional “right,” most Americans still oppose most of the abortions that Roe made legal. Even the most creative legal scholars cannot identify Roe’s constitutional justification, and most have stopped trying. Roe’s abortion regime is far more permissive than the law in England or America ever provided, and lower courts have never been able consistently to discern and apply the Court’s subjective abortion decisions. Roe should never have been the basis of abortion policy in America; the Court should correct its error and overrule Roe v. Wade. Heritage Experts: Sarah Perry and Thomas Jipping

Rep. Jim Jordan: Email Shows FBI Using ‘Counterterrorism Tools’ Against ‘Concerned Parents’ – The top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee is asking Attorney General Merrick Garland about his October testimony to that same committee, citing a document unearthed by a whistleblower that shows the FBI started using a specific tag to track threats related to schools. “We are now in receipt of a protected disclosure from a [Justice] Department whistleblower showing that the FBI’s counterterrorism division is compiling and categorizing threat assessments related to parents, including a document directing FBI personnel to use a specific ‘threat tag’ to track potential investigations,” writes Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, in a Nov. 16 letter to Garland. Heritage Experts: Mike Gonzalez and Jonathan Butcher

‘I Give Myself an A’: 4 Highlights of Mayorkas’ Senate Testimony on Border Crisis – “President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas should be ashamed of the border crisis they have created. Sadly, they knew what they were doing when they undid nearly every single effective border security policy of the previous administration. Mass illegal immigration was the goal, and with these October numbers, we have yet another month of unchecked flows across our border. We know most of these illegal aliens are being released into the interior, where they put additional strain on our communities. It’s far past time Congress got serious about exercising its constitutional authority to investigate the Biden border crisis, to determine who’s driving it, and to stop it. That’s just the first step in getting out of this crisis and undoing the damage Biden and his administration have done.” Heritage Expert: Lora Ries

Give Every Virginia Child the Change to Succeed in School and Life  Virginia lawmakers should consider proposals that: Expand the state’s existing K-12 private school tax-credit scholarship option so that donors receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on their donations to non-profit organizations (currently, charitable donors only receive a 65% credit on their contributions). This will help scholarship organizations provide more scholarships to more children around the state. Also, proposals that revise these tax-credit scholarships so that all students and their families can use the awards to find personal tutors, hire education therapists as needed, pay for curricular materials, pay tuition for online classes, cover private school tuition, and pay for transportation needs to and from a child’s new school. Why Biden’s Infrastructure Bill Will Likely Only Worsen Supply Chain Crisis – Rather than fixing this crisis, this bill instead uses it as an excuse to push a gigantic handout for special interests, radical left-wing activists, and unions. As a result, the money won’t be going where supply chains need it, but rather to irrelevant make-work projects that please activists and unions, such as subsidies for electric cars that have nothing to do with supply chains; to plowing hundreds of billions of dollars into tearing down and rebuilding Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s “racist” highways; to building trains to nowhere; and to bailing out failed urban transit. Biden’s Boondoggle  President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats promise that their $3.5 trillion spending bill will “transform our economy.” Few would argue with that claim, although not everyone is on board with the notion that concentrating more resources and power in the federal government and moving deeper into the socialist camp is a desirable transformation. Central to the left’s sales pitch for this massive bill is the claim that the new spending and entitlement programs will benefit families and children. But transforming the largest and most prosperous economy in the history of civilization will not be without significant cost and consequence — even, or perhaps especially, for those to whom the proposal promises the most benefits.
