OSHA Suspends Implementation of Biden’s Vaccine Mandate

From the story: The OSHA website page dedicated to the COVID Vaccine Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) reads: “While OSHA remains confident in its authority to protect workers in emergencies, OSHA has suspended activities related to the implementation and enforcement of the ETS pending future developments in the litigation.” Last week, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit fully blocked Biden’s executive order requiring companies with over 100 workers to mandate vaccination for their employees after temporarily staying it on November 12. The court ordered that OSHA “take no steps to implement or enforce” the vaccine mandate “until further court order” (National Review). From another story: Earlier this month, the federal appeals court ordered a temporary halt on the mandate, but the Department of Justice then requested that the halt be lifted, contending that the administration has the legal authority to require COVID-19 vaccines or testing for larger companies and that the states that are challenging the mandate have not shown that their claims outweigh the harm of stopping of rule. The court, however, upheld the stay, which prompted OSHA’s announcement that it is suspending enforcement of the rule (The Hill). From Dr. Albert Mohler, who is part of a lawsuit over this issue: Good news, but this is not over by a long shot (pun intended) (Twitter).

International Olympic Committee: Men Should Be Allowed to Compete as Women

And they have even declared they shouldn’t be required to have lower testosterone to do so (Sky News). From Abigail Shrier: We need to have a serious discussion about withdrawing our female athletes from the Olympics if this foolish, extreme, and unjust policy is allowed to stand. America has invested too much in the development of our female athletes to submit them to this (Twitter).

Department of Education Launches Investigation into School Board After Conservatives Gained Control

The NBC News story is quick to insist “conservatives have misbranded” certain books “under the umbrella of critical race theory.”  After a racial incident on a campus, the board put together a “diversity” plan parents objected to and believed created reverse racism. They vote out the school board. That upset the DOE (NBC News).  From Dana Loesch: NBC, with efforts from this reporter here, has harassed and smeared parents in our district and now on the heels of the FBI targeting “domestic terrorist” parents the Dept. of Edu Civil Rights department is in our town investigating parents (Twitter).

January 6 Committee Ignoring Problem of Capitol Police Department Conduct

From the story: The investigators questioning the whistleblower, who requested anonymity for privacy reasons, were a part of the Jan. 6 select committee focused on law enforcement and referred to as the “Blue Team.” The panel’s tactics both before and during the interview had him worried the committee was too close with the Capitol Police department to conduct an open and honest review, he said. A committee staffer asked the whistleblower if a lawyer from the police department could be present for his interview, according to emails reviewed by POLITICO. The whistleblower said he found the suggestion troubling, as he did not know how the department learned he was slated to be interviewed. He said he told the staffer he would not participate in any meeting where department lawyers were present. No one from the department ultimately attended his interview, he said. “They’re not going to do a real review of the Capitol Police,” the whistleblower said in an interview. “I think it’s a chilling effect that they’re in bed with the general counsel” (Politico). From Byron York: Huge problems with Capitol Police preparation/response. Need for investigation. But the House January 6 committee is about Trump (Twitter).

College Democrats Organization Fighting Each Other Over Wokeness
From the story: The group’s leaders are publicly firing off accusations of anti-Blackness, Islamaphobia and anti-Semitism at each other. Impeachment proceedings are now in the works against the organization’s new vice president, Nourhan Mesbah, who is Muslim. College Democrats say that screenshots of tweets that their peers sent in adolescence spread rapidly through group texts, which already caused a student running for president of the group to withdraw their candidacy in September. And national advocacy groups for Muslim and Jewish Americans are now weighing in with criticism. The conflict has gotten so messy that the Democratic National Committee is considering disaffiliating with the national collegiate organization altogether and creating a partnership with the state groups underneath the national umbrella, according to a Democrat familiar with the discussions. The DNC declined to comment (Politico).  From Glenn Greenwald: Left-liberal spaces have become utterly toxic: mostly for those inside of them. It’s a totally self-immolating climate. Nobody can survive it. Ultimate reaping of what they’ve sown (Twitter). Much of the focus of the problem is on tweets from members when they were in their early teens. From Tim Carney: The only virtue in the replacement faith is having lived a totally inoffensive life (Twitter). From Dan McLaughlin: The Revolution devours its children (Twitter).

NY Times: Republican States are Causing All the Vaccine Problems
In a story about Florida pushing back against mandates, the story confuses that with being against the vaccine.  From the story: The jarring scene gave vaccine skeptics in Florida a big win and moved the state further away from the guidance of federal public health officials, reflecting how a highly politicized pandemic has only become more so as Republican-controlled states confront the Biden administration’s wide-ranging attempts to ease it.  According to the story, it’s all a ploy to get votes.

Nike Pulls Travis Scott Shoe “Out of Respect” for Victims of Astroworld

From the story: “Out of respect for everyone impacted by the tragic events at the Astroworld Festival, we are postponing the launch of the Air Max 1 × Cactus Jack,” the statement said (GMA). But it’s hard to believe they are sincere when they do business as “a brand of China and for China” according to the CEO (Fox Business) where Uyghurs are in forced labor camps. Nike isn’t ending any business in China “out of respect” for those victims.
