Dear Evidence Action Supporter,

This year has been difficult, with the pandemic continuing to disrupt lives and livelihoods across the globe. And though Evidence Action’s work was affected, our team rapidly adapted to changing circumstances. We continually iterated to ensure that our impact on the lives of millions was maintained and could grow. Despite the pandemic’s challenges we made enormous progress in 2021, while also maintaining our focus on cost-effective, evidence-based work across our 7 countries.

Today, our Dispensers for Safe Water program is operating at pre-pandemic levels; all the governments the Deworm the World supports have restarted their deworming programs; we expanded our support to state governments in India to help prevent iron deficiency anemia with our Iron and Folic Acid supplementation program; we launched a new program for syphilis testing and treatment for pregnant women in Liberia; and our Accelerator continued to research and test new promising interventions.

Our capacity to rapidly and effectively adapt was also recently recognized by Charity Navigator—the largest non-profit evaluator in the world—who gave us a perfect Encompass score in all rated categories. Charity Navigator considered our experience so exemplary that they asked us to write a blog

about our lessons learned to share with their large audience.

In the weeks that remain this year, we will be highlighting the breadth and depth of our impact—none of which would be achievable without the support of our donors and partners. We intend that these stories will give you hope—in seeing the progress we made this year, and in our collective ability to impact the lives of people in need of better health, livelihoods, and opportunities. We are poised to continue to grow our programs, working towards our goal of doubling our impact by 2024, measurably improving the lives of millions more.

I invite you to come along on this journey with us.
