** Bush: If Rittenhouse Acquitted, White Supremacists Will be Empowered to ‘Shoot at Us’

Monday on Twitter ([link removed]) , racist demagogue Rep. Cori Bush ([link removed]) (D-MO) claimed irrationally that she believes if 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse gets acquitted on the grounds of self-defense for shooting three white rioters who tried to kill him, white supremacists will be emboldened to shoot at Black Lives Matter ([link removed]) (BLM) protesters.

“When we marched in Ferguson, white supremacists would hide behind a hill near where Michael Brown Jr. was murdered and shoot at us,” she said, repeating the lie that black thug Michael Brown was murdered by a white police officer he was assaulting. “They never faced consequences. If Kyle Rittenhouse gets acquitted, it tells them that even 7 years later they still can get away with it.”

Get away with what? There is zero evidence that such a thing ever happened. The very idea is ludicrous, but BLM activist Ohun Ashe backed up the congresswoman’s claim. “This is FACTS!” she asserted illiterately on Twitter. “I vividly remember hiding under porches in Canfield as shots were fired at us. No one came to help us. We would come from under porches using cars as shields in between gun shots to make it out.”

The reason no one came to help them is because it didn’t happen. Even Ferguson Police Chief Frank McCall Jr., a black man, told the Webster County Citizen that his department has no record of such an incident. Breitbart News notes that the only documented incident of the type described by Bush occurred in March 2015 when two police officers outside the Ferguson police headquarters were shot by Jeffrey Williams, a black man, who was later arrested and convicted of the shooting.

“While on the front lines of the Ferguson Uprising, Congresswoman Bush and other activists were shot at by white supremacist vigilantes,” a Bush spokesperson insisted later, offering no evidence. “The question we need to ask is why white supremacists feel empowered to open-carry rifles, incite violence, and put black lives at risk across our country.”

The question we need to ask is why a black congresswoman can make such a false claim and not be savaged by the media. Imagine the media frenzy if a white Republican congressperson had made such a demonstrably false claim about Black Lives Matter activists.

** Condemning America As a Land of Oppression & “White Supremacy”

On July 4, 2021, Bush condemned America in a tweet ([link removed]) that said: “This land is stolen land and Black people still aren’t free.” In a separate tweet, she stated: “We know what our own freedom looks like. End the slavery permitted under the 13th amendment. End the War on Drugs. End police violence. End health care, housing, and education apartheid, WE are the experts on our own liberation. And we won’t stop until it’s won.”
The next day, Bush tweeted ([link removed]) : “It’s not a coincidence that the people who are saying Black people have full freedom in our country are the same ones trying to prevent teaching the truth about white supremacy in our classrooms.”
