Hi John,
I’m happy to say that President Biden signed the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill into law on Monday, a crucial piece of legislation that will have both immediate and long-term benefits for all Americans. It was an honor to attend the signing ceremony with public officials from around the nation.
The Georgia delegation worked hard to make sure Georgians will see the benefit of this bill:
-
At least $8.9 billion for roads and $225 million for bridges.
-
At least $100 million for broadband.
-
$1.4 billion for public transportation.
-
$619 million to improve our airports and $8 million to improve our ports.
-
At least $135 million to fight climate change and create green jobs.
We’ve delivered on a promise to Americans to repair our crumbling infrastructure, but we must pass the Build Back Better Act next to truly fulfill our pledges to voters who want transformational change.
We should all celebrate this moment, because it’s rare a piece of legislation this substantial is passed in today's divided Congress. But after we take a deep breath and reflect, let’s get back to work.
