A Dangerous Side Effect to the PG&E Blackouts

I'm so worried about those of you in California.

As wildfires rage there, communications are DOWN at some radio stations,
internet service providers and cell phone towers due to the PG&E
blackout.

This is particularly dangerous during a disaster as many people rely on
email and SMS warnings and information to know when to evacuate.Those
who do not live in wildfire country may not realize the importance of
this.

Wildfires are extremely unpredictable. One minute its miles and miles
away - you're safe - the next the wind changes and you're running for
your life.

Here's what we know about the comms situation so far.
