Republicans' commitment to the destruction of our democracy is appalling. Despite Ohioans’ demands for fair representation, Republicans are trying to force a map into law that tilts the scale in a way that violates both common sense and the Constitution.
This is not democracy, this is tyranny. Desperate for redemption in the aftermath of last year’s elections, Republicans are willing to destroy the foundation of our democracy for their political gain.
The most recent map nearly guarantees a Republican win for 87% percent of Ohio’s Congressional seats for the next decade, shutting out the voices of thousands of Ohioans, and leaving them with little recourse. We cannot sit by and allow this extreme gerrymandering to stand.
The people of this district deserve fair representation, and we are committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure that. Ohio’s House of Representatives is set to vote on the most recent map in the next 24 hours, and it’s urgent that we prepare to fight this to the finish. It will be a costly legal battle, but it can be won.
