With the end of the eviction moratorium paired with the closing of the Stay DC application, thousands of DC residents have been left in the dust struggling to keep up on their rent and debts. With federal funds not expected to be distributed for tenant relief until March 2022, advocates, tenants and the DC Council are urging Mayor Bowser to release emergency funding into rental relief programs such as ERAP to provide temporary relief to tenants.
Additionally, Mayor Bowser has just ironically launched her “Home for the Holidays'' campaign, aiming to find homes for c individuals by the end of the year, while taking no assertive action to stop the current wave of evictions.
Cancel Rent DC will be marching to Mayor Bowser’s house on Saturday, November 20th to call her out for her inconsistencies and urge her to take immediate action to fund temporary rental relief and reinstate the eviction moratorium.
WHEN: Saturday, November 20th at 3pm
WHERE: Meet at 7901 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20012
RSVP: Facebook Event

Please dress in your best holiday attire! We will be doing a mock “Without a Home for the Holidays” press conference, a humorous skit and do some group Christmas carols.
In order for this action to be a success we want as many tenants out there as possible demanding Bowser do her job to keep tenants housed. Please share this event with your bases, contacts, neighbors, friends and family!
