Authentic Voices of Pride: Youth Homelessness

Across the United States, LGBTQ youth drop-in centers aim to minimize harm to homeless youth and help them build a foundation for security and stability. We met with Lilianna Reyes and the staff of Detroit's Ruth Ellis Center to discuss this vital issue.

For them, the job is personal - 100% of the Ruth Ellis drop-in center staff are formerly homeless or were housing insecure before they came to the Ruth Ellis center themselves. The staff of the Ruth Ellis drop-in center have overcome huge obstacles to give back and improve the lives of LGBTQ youth.

In this series of Authentic Voices of Pride, we follow success stories of formerly unhoused youth and spotlight the organizations that put them on the road to a better future.
