Friend,

When I was first appointed to the Senate, I knew the task at hand was much bigger than simply winning back the majority and fiddling around the edges.

I campaigned across Minnesota for three years straight, won two statewide elections — a special election in 2018, and a full term in 2020 — and heard every step of the way how badly we need change in Washington. Bold change.

The kind of change Democrats are trying to pass with the Build Back Better Act.

Climate action.
Lower prescription drug costs.
Affordable childcare and universal pre-K.

We’ve passed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act and the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and I’ll be the first to tell you: We need to go even further.

For decades, we’ve severely underinvested in childcare, education, and confronting the reality Congress has known since the 1980s: Our planet is warming, human activity is causing it, and if we don’t act, it will mean disaster for future generations.

One bill isn't going to fix years of neglect. Or two bills. Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal and Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society weren't one piece of legislation — they were multiyear efforts. And they required Democrats to defend their majorities so their progress wouldn't end after just two years.

In this critical moment, Democrats must come together to pass the Build Back Better Act and move President Biden’s agenda forward.

This fight is for our future and I'm not backing down. But I need you in my corner. Will you stand with me by pitching in?
