Julius Jones has been on death row for more than half his life for a crime he’s always said he didn’t commit, and there are a lot of people on his side.
A little over two weeks ago, the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board recommended — for the second time — that Julius’ death sentence be commuted based on the many doubts in his case and mounting evidence of his innocence. Another man has even confessed to multiple people that he is the one who committed the crime. But we still haven’t heard anything from Gov. Kevin Stitt.
Julius is still scheduled to be executed TOMORROW. So we need as many people as possible to contact the governor right now and tell him to listen to the Pardon and Parole Board and commute Julius’ sentence: Dial 405-521-2342 (press 0) to speak to the governor’s office and tweet at him here [[link removed], before another innocent person is executed:

Anyone who takes a closer look at Julius’ case will see that an inadequate defense and overt racism played key roles in his conviction.
Julius was at home having dinner with his family at the time of the crime — but his legal team failed to present his alibi at his original trial. They didn’t call any of his family members to testify on the stand.
Before the trial, the State removed all prospective Black jurors except one. And in 2017, Julius’ lawyers discovered that before jury deliberations at the sentencing phase, one juror used a racial slur against Julius and said they should just “shoot him behind the jail.”
