John,
The second round of Redistricting Town Halls is less than a week away!
Redistricting is right around the corner and the extremist Republicans in the Kansas Legislature have made it clear they don't intend to draw fair maps. During the last round of Redistricting Town Halls, they crammed the 14 announced hearings into just one week, with only a few days' notice to the general public.
This time, not much has changed. With less than a week to go until the first hearing, the Republican-led committee just released all the details on the Town Halls. Additionally, the hearings are scheduled around Thanksgiving, which proves extra challenging for many Kansans as they prepare for the holiday.
Overview:
The second round of Redistricting Town Halls will have a virtual component and every meeting will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm. Committee members will attend the hearings virtually. Conferees may provide oral or written testimony. Conferees may provide testimony virtually or at a designated public location. Each location will have audio and visual equipment for conferees to provide oral testimony. All hearings will be livestreamed online.

Now's the time to act: We must get Democrats at these meetings and make sure the Redistricting Committee knows we will not be silenced by their unfair process! It's time Republicans listened to Kansans and draw fair maps without gerrymandering in their favor.

Harmony: Kansas State Legislature
The Kansas GOP isn't interested in holding a fair and transparent process — time and time again, they have proven that they will do everything they can to allow for as little real, meaningful public input as possible. If they're successful in pushing through these hearings without much public notice, Republicans will redraw the congressional districts in their own favor and ensure they dominate state politics for years to come.
