Dear Friends of IDP,
Today, I am proud to share a snapshot of IDP’s impact in 2021 ([link removed]) . Thanks to your support, IDP has won remarkable victories even in the midst of these challenging times.

Together, we have accomplished so much in 2021, including:
* Providing critical legal support to 1,020 community members and attorneys through IDP’s hotline
* Securing a landmark damages settlement for an HIV positive New Yorker who was illegally targeted by ICE
* Collaborating with criminal justice allies to pass 7 bills in New York state that protect the rights of vulnerable communities and incarcerated people through the Justice Roadmap ([link removed])

To learn more about how your support bolsters the fight for immigrants’ rights, please check out our end-of-year letter ([link removed]) .

In 2022, IDP will continue to help immigrants navigate detention and deportation in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and fight for immigrants' rights in the courts. Our work will also be crucial to protecting immigrants facing horrific conditions at Rikers Island, opposing local police collaboration with ICE, and supporting communities to defend against ICE raids.

Your support will ensure that IDP can continue to provide vital legal services and lead the fight for justice.

A few months ago, I was honored to join IDP as its new Executive Director ([link removed]) . Since then, I’ve been in awe of the commitment and passion that our team and supporters bring to our mission. Many challenges lay ahead but together we will overcome them.

With love and solidarity,

Jon

Jonathan Monsalve (he/him)
