Hey,
Did you see Larry’s note from earlier?
We’re building an incredible team -- from our Senior Advisors who have done this for years, to our volunteers (some of whom aren’t even old enough to vote yet!). The momentum keeps building.
A campaign this size takes a lot of resources to sustain, and we couldn’t do it without you.
If you can, please consider making a donation to help us reach our $350,000 goal by tomorrow night.

Thanks,
Pete for America

Subject: The parallels between 2007 and 2019
Hi there,
My name is Larry Grisolano and I’m a senior messaging advisor for Pete -- just like I was for the then-Senator Barack Obama in 2007.
Pete’s campaign this year is rekindling the same excitement I felt at this time in 2007.
We’re heading into an important weekend in Iowa -- Pete has a big speech at one of the biggest political events of the year -- and I wanted to tell you what I’ll be looking for on the ground.
In 2007, the country was divided over a war and paralyzed by Washington partisanship. Longstanding problems festered as Washington gridlock blocked progress. Contentious and small politics crowded out real solutions for the common good.
Voters yearned for change, for someone genuine and sincere. They were well aware of the country’s mounting challenges, and they were prepared to take a chance on a new approach and new leadership because the same old ways just were not working.
Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
On a November evening, at what was then called the “Jefferson-Jackson Dinner,” Barack Obama took a stage in Des Moines, Iowa and presented Americans with a passionate appeal for a new vision that instilled hope for the future and led to a surge in support for his campaign. The crowd roared as he declared, “This is our moment.”
It was the moment that changed everything for the Obama campaign and, ultimately, for the country.
That same moment for Pete, and for America, is this Friday night.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Pete Buttigieg is whom America needs. And right now, we need your help. Make your first donation today to help us reach millions of people and pave our path to winning Iowa.

When Pete takes that stage Friday night, he will confront the dangerous threat President Trump and his enablers pose to our country. He’ll demonstrate the leadership and character the Democratic Party needs to defeat Trump and Trumpism. As a Midwesterner and a veteran, Pete has the values, toughness, and experience to lead Democrats to victory. And he will do more. He will summon Americans to the common purpose of picking up the pieces and solving problems together -- beginning the first day after the Trump presidency ends.
This contest will decide what kind of leader we have on that day -- more of the same polarizing Washington politics or a new approach.
Pete’s is uniquely suited to heal a divided nation and summon us to national purpose to take on the biggest challenges we will face in our lifetimes. I joined this campaign because I see in Pete the qualities I’ve seen before -- hope.
I’m heading to Iowa and will be sure to report back on what I see. Click the link here to make a personal donation to spark change and help us reach our $350,000 goal to close out the month.
