The Dolores Huerta Foundation, alongside partnering organizations and community members from throughout the Central Valley, is organizing a solidarity march to demand fairness in California’s redistricting. Our future depends on fair lines, fair funding and fair treatment for all.

Join the march to remind our elected officials that We the People means all of us! This is a struggle for fair county district maps, more social services and funds from the Covid Rescue Plan for our communities..

The Fresno County Democratic Party will be having phone banks to help people schedule appointments for their booster shot or help them find their nearest walk-in vaccination site.

According to the CDC, among all fully vaccinated adults 18 and older in California, nearly 14% have received a booster shot. Join us to phone bank and help schedule our community for booster shots. We will have a short training before the event to get you ready!

Hybrid meetings have been a popular way to help us transition back into normal life, and the Fresno County Democrats have outfitted our headquarters to be a place that allied organizations can use. Some of our Democratic clubs are creating a new norm with hybrid meetings. Pictured above is the Fresno Stonewall Democrats. Hybrid meetings will help bring us together again!

Covid-19 protocols were in place during these meetings. Everyone in the office is vaccinated and was asked to show their vaccine card before entering the building.

Two new parks are coming to District 3, and resident involvement is needed to help design them.

What is currently an empty lot on N. Broadway St. and E. Elizabeth St. in the Tower District will become a neighborhood park. Renovations will take place at San Pablo Park and Ted C. Wills Community Center. In addition, the 10-acre land on MLK Blvd. and E. Church Ave. was recently acquired and will become a historic regional park in Southwest Fresno. Renovations will also take place at community centers in Southwest Fresno.

On Nov. 16 and every third Tuesday, the Clean Shared Mobility Network will be meeting to discuss improving electric vehicle charging access and other transportation improvements and solutions needed to help cut our region’s contribution to damaging the atmosphere while making people’s lives easier.

All meetings are 5:30 p.m.–7 p.m. Agendas will be provided prior to the meetings. Upcoming meeting dates: Nov. 16 and Dec. 21.

This upcoming meeting will be covering what might be called Electric Vehicles 101. And there will also be a raffle, but you have to be present to win!

Meetings will be held virtually until CDC-compliant in-person meetings can be held.

The County of Fresno is requesting your input on how to prioritize spending the money our county has received from the American Rescue Plan that President Biden and the Democratic Congress passed this year. Filling out the survey only takes a few seconds as you are asked to rank your view of the immediacy of various important issues facing our valley.

This Community Outreach Survey is intended to collect community input to help determine how the County will invest dedicated one-time American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funds. This survey will be available to complete through Dec. 3 and is available online in more than 40 languages atwww.fresnocountyca.gov/ARPA.

The survey forms are available in English, Spanish, Hmong or Punjabi at all Fresno County Libraries. Completed paper hard-copy forms may be submitted via e-mail to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) or hand-delivered or mailed to County Administrative Office – ARPA 2021, 2281 Tulare St., Room 304, Fresno, CA 93721.

We can all applaud Congressional Democrats for passing President Biden’s infrastructure bill. Many people on both the progressive and conservative sides of the spectrum had doubted that Biden would be able to pull off his campaign promise of substantive bipartisan legislation, but Biden and House Speaker Nancy Palosi managed to do just that.

We should also recognize the 13 Republican representatives who broke from the mandated party line to vote in favor of Biden’s infrastructure bill, which has always enjoyed great popular support from the general public. Although spite might motivate a majority of Republican legislators, and drive them to vote against a bill that will bring benefits and jobs to their own constituents, there are still a few people there who refused to shoot themselves in the foot in the hope of damaging Democrats in the next election.

The core of the Democratic Party and the progressive agenda is solving problems. We know that the conservative method of weakening our collective society to let people struggle among themselves does not lead to a better world.

Biden’s social welfare bill is next on Congress’ docket, but we cannot allow this tremendous success to be overshadowed by the row sure to be raised by conservative opponents over that second measure. Infrastructure matters, and the team of Biden and Congressional Democrats have delivered it to us. When opponents of progress try to make the difficult process of lawmaking more prominent than the actual results, we need to remember what is actually important.

Join us Wednesday, December 8 6-8 p.m. at Democratic Party HQ for this round table discussion to hear from different perspectives how the Build Back Better bill will benefit us.
