Friend, For decades, I have been fighting back against the Far Right’s attempts to undermine progress on many of the issues that we hold dear, working alongside some of our country’s most fearless leaders in progressive advocacy. And in recent years I, like so many, have become alarmed at the rising far-right movement that has grown exponentially during Trump’s time in office. It’s why, when asked to join the board of People For the American Way – an organization that was founded 40 years ago explicitly to fight back against rising right-wing extremism – I immediately said yes. And as part of the People For family, I was proud to join one of the recent civil disobedience events at the White House – protesting in support of voting rights legislation and demanding that President Biden do more to protect one of our most sacred rights – and getting arrested for doing so. This fight reminds me of so many that I’ve been involved in throughout the years, experiences that I have chronicled in my new book reflecting on my decades-long activism – from the HIV/AIDS crisis, world poverty, gun violence, reproductive freedoms, the #MeToo movement, and so much more. As a People For supporter and someone dedicated to the core American values of democracy, equality, and justice for all, I think you’ll enjoy reading the firsthand accounts of my experiences during these decades of fighting and some reflections on how we can persevere in the years ahead. My new book "Sorry Not Sorry" is available now: Order it today on Amazon where it's currently 35% off >> Or find another retailer here >> I hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it, and I can’t wait to continue working alongside you as we fight back against the right-wing extremism that has swept the nation. With gratitude, Alyssa Milano
