We must send Amazon a message on Cyber Monday.

Dear Friend,

Actor Terry Crews is starring in a commercial showing him playing an Amazon warehouse worker, packing boxes and making it seem like a joy to work for the megacorporation.(1)

Are they kidding us?

Having Crews cosplay as a low-wage warehouse worker on television doesn’t change the fact that Amazon is constantly cited for horrible, unsafe working conditions and underpaying its employees. We need to show Amazon that we aren’t going to fall for gimmicky advertising -- and we are not going to let up the pressure until it changes how it treats its workers.

Courage California has launched a highly visible #DeliverUsFromAmazon campaign to convince people to shop local, not Amazon, this holiday season. Will you join us?

Here’s what Amazon’s warehouse workers deal with on a regular basis:

  • Inhumane quotas that cause injuries at three times the rate of similar jobs(2)
  • A human resource app that regularly underpays workers and even fires them with no recourse(3)
  • Zero company policy for sick leave or maternity leave(4)
  • Ongoing bullying tactics to crush union efforts(5)

And it’s not just workers who Amazon is abusing. More than 160,000 small businesses have gone under since the beginning of the pandemic, and recent document leaks show that Amazon purposefully push small business listings farther down search lists, and even steal proprietary information from these businesses.(6)

Amazon has also leaked our personal data and sold it to police departments, and knowingly sold dangerous and faulty products.(7,8)

Amazon must be stopped, and we must use our grassroots power to hit the corporation where it hurts. If Amazon doesn’t make its sales projections this holiday season, it will finally be forced to listen to our demands for change.

Will you pledge to shop local and help #DeliverUsFromAmazon this holiday shopping season?

Yours in the fight against corporate abuse of power,

Angela, along with Amber, Annie, Caitlin, Irene, Isidra, Jay, Lindsay, LisaMarie, Raquel, and Scottie (the Courage team)
