It’s hard to fathom what’s happening on factory farms right now. Millions of hens spend their entire lives crammed into wire cages so small they can’t stand at their full height—let alone spread their wings.

These innocent birds will never get to cluck at their sweet hatchlings, bathe their feathers in the dust, or find a warm place to nest at night.

Instead, they face the total agony of twisted ankles and broken bones as they lay hundreds and hundreds more eggs than their bodies could ever naturally create—just to keep the egg industry afloat.

But, together, we can speak truth to power—and change the lives of millions of egg-laying hens. [[link removed]]

So, today, we’re kicking off a new campaign to end cages in the US and around the world. And we’re feeling hopeful. Together, we’re making a difference for egg-laying hens—one corporation, one farm, one cage at a time.

This is how we’re getting started: the Open Wing Alliance—our international network of animal activists—is calling out these brands to go 100% cage-free across their global operations: Cinnabon, Auntie Anne’s, Jamba, and French bakery Brioche Dorée. These bakeries exploit hens for profit—and slaughter them as soon as they stop being profitable. Let’s demand an end to this abuse.

When we call on giant corporations to embrace higher welfare standards, we can create incredible change for chickens across the country and around the globe.

Thank you for being in community with us, and fighting for change.

P.S. In case you missed it: California’s Proposition 12 [[link removed]] is the strongest farm animal protection law ever passed, and it goes into full effect at the start of 2022. Prop 12 spares animals from the worst forms of caged confinement. With laws like these, we can make a huge difference for millions of innocent chickens—and pigs and cows, too!
