** Reminder: Join Virtual Town Halls to Learn How You Can Join the Fight for Fossil Free Buildings!
------------------------------------------------------------

New York leads the nation in premature deaths ([link removed]) resulting from the air pollution caused by burning fossil fuels in buildings for heating, hot water, and cooking, which also contributes to one third of New York's emissions. The Renewable Heat Now Campaign ([link removed]) is organizing to win a package of funding and bills that will get fossil fuels out of our buildings and make renewable alternatives more affordable and equitable.

Join one of these upcoming Town Halls to learn how you can get involved in the movement for renewable heat and how we will build our power to win! Speakers will include Sen. Kavanagh and AM Gallagher, who sponsored the All-Electric Building Act ([link removed]) , which would ban fossil fuels in new buildings across New York!

** Call Gov. Hochul: We Want Green, Healthy, Affordable Buildings!
------------------------------------------------------------

Help us flood Gov. Hochul’s office with calls this week at 877-235-6537! Please share this call script so we can generate as many calls as possible and build the people power needed to win green, healthy, affordable housing for all!

Suggested call script:

“Hi, my name is ____ and I am a resident of ______. I’m calling to ask Governor Hochul to make a massive investment in affordable, green, all-electric buildings at the 2022 State of the State, prioritizing disadvantaged communities where buildings are the least efficient and energy costs are the highest.

Buildings account for one-third of New York’s emissions, so it’s critical that we phase out fossil fuels for heating, cooking, and hot water now and ensure that everyone can afford alternatives like heat pumps and induction stoves. Specifically, I support the requests of over 200 organizations who sent a letter to the Governor in October asking that she create a Green Affordable Housing Fund and end fossil fuel expansion. Thank you for your time."
