Friend,
You are invited to a special Facebook Live town hall on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 6:45 p.m. EST to discuss the recent availability of vaccinations for children ages 5 and over. It is a great step to accelerate our way out of this pandemic; and for educators and healthcare workers, it is especially welcome news.
Our town hall will include two parents; AFT Massachusetts President Beth Kontos; and special guest, Rear Admiral Aisha K. Mix, chief nurse officer of the United States.
We’ll discuss the Biden administration’s efforts to make vaccines readily available for children and the ongoing focus on ensuring students’ safe return to schools and combating vaccine misinformation. We are honored to have the nation’s highest nurse professional share her knowledge and expertise. We’ll also hear from our leader from Massachusetts who will discuss vaccines and mask mandate policies, and we’ll highlight two parents’ perspectives on these efforts in their communities.
I look forward to seeing you this Thursday at 6:45 p.m. EST. You’ll be able to watch live on Facebook and YouTube.
In unity,
Randi Weingarten
AFT President
