Folks —
Last week, Mitch McConnell was boasting that the midterm elections will be a “very good election for Republicans.”
Let me explain:
The president’s party typically loses seats during the midterm elections.
It happened in 2010 during the Obama administration. And in 2018 during the Trump administration. With 2022 around the corner, McConnell and the rest of the GOP are determined to make sure next November is no different.
Since the Senate is split 50-50, Republicans only need to flip one seat to reclaim control of the Senate and hand the gavel back over to McConnell. And according to the former Senate Majority Leader, they’re feeling optimistic about their chances.
We can’t let this happen.
If we want to continue getting things done for folks across the country, we need to defend and expand our slim Democratic majority in the Senate.
Can you chip in right now to fuel our work protecting and expanding our Democratic Senate majority? Our mid-quarter deadline expires today so I’d greatly appreciate any amount you’re willing to give before midnight.
