Sea Shepherd's End of Year
Matching Gift Challenge
Dear Friends,
With your generous support, we have achieved many significant victories for the Ocean in 2021.
In Gabon, the Minister of Fisheries suspended the entire shrimp fishery based on discoveries while patrolling with Sea Shepherd. In Peru, we assisted environmental prosecutors in arresting three trawlers for illegal fishing in the Eastern Tropical Pacific. In Mexico, we are maintaining a presence in the region and continue to fight for the vaquita’s protection -- a species that would be extinct if not for Sea Shepherd’s efforts.
These accomplishments are significant, but there is much work to do.
We are excited to announce the launch of the largest Matching Gift Challenge in the history of Sea Shepherd. Beginning today and through the end of the year, all donations received will be matched up to a maximum of $500,000. So whether you make a one-time donation, create a peer-to-peer fundraising page or sign-up for our monthly giving program, every dollar donated will have twice the impact in supporting our ships and crews on the front lines.
This Matching Gift Challenge is made possible through the generosity of James Costa & John Archibald, Rosie & Bob Heil, Ann Johnston, Ann Kobsa, Michelle Moore, Chris & Jennifer Sharp, the Tomchin Family Foundation, Rosa Venezia, the Werdegar Family, Karen Yust, and other anonymous donors.
Whether you are a longtime supporter or have just recently learned about our life-saving efforts in the Netflix’s hit documentary, Seaspiracy, we offer our deepest thanks for any support you can give during this critical time for our planet.
