Allow me to make some introductions.
I’m so excited to finally share our first set of Groundwork Partner Organizations! As you know, my team has spent months connecting with local organizers and activists in our first slate of partner states: Alabama, Mississippi, and West Virginia. We’ve met with well over 100 community groups, logged countless hours on Zoom, listened, learned, and filled ourselves to the brim with inspiration and awe.
Now, the time has come to share with you our first OFFICIAL Groundwork Partner Organizations: United Women of Color in Alabama, the Black Voter Impact Initiative in West Virginia, and the Mississippi Workers’ Center.
Groundwork is providing a grant to each of our partners immediately but we need your help. We need to raise another $58,000. Donate now.
As you know, Groundwork’s mission is to support community organizers, advocates, and activists across the country working year-round in places traditionally under-resourced, excluded, and ignored. We invest in hyperlocal efforts that build sustainable political infrastructure, engage and educate voters, and build power for the underrepresented and disenfranchised.
But we can only do so much without you on our side. All three of our partner states have been under-resourced by Democrats for years. That means your dollar can go even further towards building the foundation needed for real progress and change.
Over the next few days, I’m excited to share with you more about each partner organization. But in the meantime, help us hit the ground running with a contribution now.
Thank you for staying engaged as we do this work as thoughtfully and impactfully as possible. I can say without a doubt: Our first set of partners are some of the strongest organizers on the ground in Alabama, Mississippi, and West Virginia. We’re so proud to finally introduce them to you.
More soon!
Joe
