The National Republican Congressional Committee, the group that decides the Republican Party’s congressional campaign strategy, released a “target list” of thirteen House Democrats they intend to unseat in 2022 -- a list that includes Congressman Sanford Bishop.

John, the Republicans coming for our district are hitting us with a one-two punch:

One: State legislators are manipulating the redistricting process to minimize Democratic voters’ voices across Georgia. The most recently proposed maps show Congressman Bishop and Congresswoman Lucy McBath of Georgia’s 6th being hurt the most.

Two: National Republican operatives placed us on the hit list for 2022. GOP donors are pouring money into defeating Congressman Bishop and many of the Democrats we worked so hard to elect — Democrats who serve their communities’ best interests every day.

We cannot let this happen. Even if the Republicans win only 1 out of every 10 races on the full target list, we will lose our House majority and be unable to make any progress for the next two years.

Georgia, in particular, will be a major battleground. Multi-million-dollar campaigns are coming. Some have already arrived.
