Studies suggest that children’s ethnic-racial identify formation is a critical aspect of development, and they start recognizing race as early as three months old. However, limited attention has been placed on this critical window of identity formation. As a result, adults are not always prepared to support children as they explore their own ethnic-racial identity, those of others, and gain a greater understanding of their world. Join us for a discussion on how ethnic-racial identity is formed, why it's important for children to explore their identity, and how we can support children’s understanding of race and ethnicity in the early learning years.

The COVID-19 pandemic shed light on the stark digital divide that is preventing students across the country from accessing opportunities that support their education in and outside of school. The pandemic helped many families realize that education options like online learning are something they want continued. However, as long as the digital divide continues to exist, not all students have equal access to flexible schooling options or out of school learning opportunities. Join us for this conversation on how partnerships between public and private sectors are necessary to ensure that innovative and creative solutions to improve education include equitable access for all students.

Many BIPOC students experience racial bias while attending college through racism, discrimination, and microaggressions. Racial Battle Fatigue is a theory that explains how exposure to racial bias can result in detrimental psychological and physiological stress. While many institutions of higher education host a variety of mental health resources, counselors and support staff are rarely racially representative of the students they serve. In this webinar, hear from higher education and mental health experts on how BIPOC students are disproportionately represented in needing mental health supports on campus and how IHEs can better meet their needs.
