THE DAY WITH THE MOST LIGHT IS THE DAY WE FIGHT

As we count our blessings during this time of gratitude, we're thankful for friends like you who are dedicated to creating a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia. We invite you to join us on The Longest Day®, the day with the most light — the summer solstice on June 21. You'll join thousands of participants from across the world to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's care, support, and research through an activity of their choice.

Then shine your light to honor a loved one with our special luminary — arriving in your mailbox by the winter solstice, December 21. You can personalize your luminary with your loved one's name and share it in your window or on your doorstep for everyone to see. On the winter solstice, post a photo on social media using #TheLongestDay and #ENDALZ. After you register for The Longest Day, add the images to your story on your fundraising webpage.

"Losing my mom to Alzheimer's and seeing the effect caregiving had on my dad inspired me to support the Alzheimer's Association's caregiving resources. My mom's sweet tooth inspired my fundraiser for The Longest Day. I spent the day baking her favorite recipes with family and friends and posted updates on Facebook with a link to my fundraising webpage.

My recipe for success: Begin fundraising in the fall and continue throughout the year, or set a date for one big fundraiser and go all in!"

- Denise G.

November offers a cornucopia of opportunities to add fundraising to your holiday plans. You could organize a Thanksgiving pie sale at your club or place of worship and offer slices or whole pies in exchange for a donation. Or get crafting for the holidays and offer your homemade décor on your social network in exchange for a donation. You could even create a “grateful gram” and ask friends to donate a dollar to send someone a note of gratitude. Whatever you have planned this month, turn it into a fundraiser for The Longest Day. Register today to get started!

Please follow CDC guidelines and recommendations from local health officials when taking part in an event for The Longest Day.

November is National Family Caregivers Month, a time to honor the more than 11 million Americans who provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer's or other dementias. The funds you raise through The Longest Day help the Alzheimer's Association® provide resources for caregivers, including in-person and online support groups and daily care information.

Register now for The Longest Day, so no one has to face Alzheimer's alone.
