The New York Attorney General’s office is one of the most important offices in the country. It oversees Wall Street, leads some of the biggest lawsuits into corporate greed and malfeasance, fights for racial justice, and breaks new ground in the fight for truth and justice in our court system.
As a federal prosecutor, Dan showed no fear, even when he was prosecuting the Genovese crime family. He went after Wall Street insider trading. And he won every single time.
Dan then worked side by side with me to prosecute the case against Donald Trump. And it was his skill, keen insight and immense dedication that helped lead to the first bipartisan vote to convict a president. Ever.

P.S. I wanted to share with you a personal moment, one the public has never seen before. Just minutes after our trial against Trump ended, I thanked the staff who brought us to that moment. Dan and I imparted to the team why what we did mattered so much. How nobody was above the law, and even if Republicans let Trump off the hook, we had made the case to the American people.
We were exhausted. But before he left for New York late that evening to go back to his wife and kids, I thanked Dan for what he did. Because without him, it wouldn’t have been such a successful vindication of our constitution and Democracy. Here’s that special moment. (Yes, I look incredibly tired ... because I was, and yes, Dan looked like he’s ready for his next fight. Because he is. That fight begins now.)
