Dear John,
We are at an inflection point for early childhood programs and systems across the U.S. The hopeful passage of the Build Back Better Act would support both universal prekindergarten and early childhood initiatives designed to improve affordability, quality, and workforce compensation. In the months and years ahead, community leaders, policymakers, researchers, and systems leaders will need to come together to build and implement early learning systems that are high-quality, equitable, and center the lived experiences of families and providers.
As we embark as a field on this incredible opportunity, Start Early is excited to offer resources and learnings from the Partnership for Pre-K Improvement (PPI). This project launched in 2017 to learn with states about how to build quality, equitable early childhood systems. The unique approach of the Partnership for Pre-K Improvement fosters partnerships across program, advocacy, and research organizations in support of a common vision for early childhood systems improvement.

Check out the NEW Partnership for Pre-K Improvement toolkit!
The Partnership for Pre-K Improvement toolkit is designed specifically for state early learning agency leaders, researchers, and advocates. The toolkit is organized into three phases:
1. Engage Stakeholders and Build Partnerships - identifying and strengthening cross-sector partnerships to garner resources and support for equitable pre-K programs.
2. Assess the System - using the Implementation Development Map, an interactive self-assessment, to evaluate the state early childhood system.
3. Implement, Improve and Advocate - providing tools that support continuous quality improvement efforts with a strong focus on equity.Join our webinar on Thursday, December 8th from 11:00 am-12:00 pm PST to learn more about the Partnership for Pre-K toolkit.

The Partnership for Pre-K Improvement Toolkit was developed in partnership with state leaders, advocates, and researchers in Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington. In addition, more than two dozen local, state, and national early learning program leaders, researchers, and policymakers also contributed valuable expertise and review of these tools and resources.
Thank you to our partners: Cultivate Learning, Alliance for Early Success, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
