John,

We wanted to make sure you saw the big news. Keith is officially running for a second term!

Keith had the closest statewide race in Minnesota in 2018, and we have an even tougher fight ahead of us going into next year’s midterms.

All eyes are on us right now, and we need to hit our Founding Donor goal by Friday to prove that we’re ready to win this race. Please stand with Keith and make a contribution that works for you to be counted!

Thank you,

Team Keith

John,

It’s my job as the people’s lawyer to help Minnesotans afford their lives and live with dignity, safety, and respect, especially when they have nowhere else to turn for help.
In the tradition of strong Minnesota attorneys general, that’s what I’ve done for Minnesotans, and what I’ll keep doing — because the fight for a fair economy is still on. That’s why, today, I’m officially announcing that I’m running for a second term.

Will you stand with me and become a Founding Donor to my re-election campaign? I’m counting on 2,000 people to contribute by Friday to prove that our movement for justice, fairness, and equality is stronger than ever.

When I ran for Minnesota Attorney General three years ago, I promised to take on the high cost of drug prices. I have because no one should have to choose between affording their lives and affording to live.

We fought for and passed the Alec Smith Emergency Insulin Act and successfully defended it in court when Big Pharma sued to overturn it. I’m holding criminal opioid manufacturers accountable for the death and destruction they caused in our communities – seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages for treatment, remediation, and prevention in Minnesota.

I promised I’d fight wage theft. I have because you should take home every dollar you’ve earned.

We fought for a new state law that gives the Minnesota Attorney General the power to enforce wage theft violations, and I set up a unit in my office dedicated to it. So far, we’ve already put more than a quarter-million dollars back into workers’ pockets.

I promised to prioritize women’s economic security. I have because women and people of all genders must have the same opportunities and legal protections as men.

We started a first-of-its-kind task force on women’s economic security to identify the economic barriers women face so we can propose solutions. I’ve defended choice and reproductive freedom, including fighting the unconstitutional abortion-bans in Texas and Mississippi – all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

I promised to focus on helping farmers and people in Greater Minnesota fight corporate power. I have because your zip code and community shouldn’t be a barrier to affording your life, and folks in Greater Minnesota face particular challenges.

I held telecom companies accountable for deceptive advertising and substandard service in Greater Minnesota. I called for a federal investigation of antitrust practices in the meatpacking industry and more federal protections for rural workers.

I’m proud of the progress we made, but right now, it’s fragile. There are powerful special interests aligned with my GOP opponents who want to make us less safe during the pandemic, restrict our right to vote, end our right to choose, make corporations more powerful, and the middle-class weaker.

We had the closest statewide race in Minnesota in 2018, and facing the uphill battle of a midterm election where our party holds the White House, we’re in for an even tougher fight next year. It will be the biggest test our movement has ever faced, and just like every challenge we’ve overcome, the only thing that’s going to get us over the edge is people-power.

John, if you’re with me, chip in to become a Founding Donor to my re-election campaign today so we can continue working together to help people afford their lives and live with dignity and respect.

Thank you,

Keith Ellison
