Team — last month, I wrote to you about my hope for the future. So much has happened in the past four weeks, and sometimes the day-to-day fighting to restore sanity to the Republican Party can really wear a person down.

It’s because of the involvement and engagement of people like you that we can see a path forward to America reclaiming its place as the world’s role model. Your efforts provide a roadmap to finding that which we know is most important about our collective consciousness as a nation: the United States of America measures a nation’s value by its honor, integrity, and commitment to the rule of law. 

And if we’re going to preach it, then we damn well need to practice it. I said it before, but here it is one more time — There is hope that our politics won’t always be this way.

The optimism I hear on the campaign trail is only getting stronger, and our message is convincing new people to join our movement each day. But we can’t do it without you.

I’ll be honest — this was a tough news week. It’s hard not to watch what’s going on with President Trump and his cabal of cronies and not worry about the future of our nation and our party. But I’m here to remind you that there is still hope.

There is hope that this president will be brought to justice. There is hope that we can reclaim the Republican Party from the grips of this group of grifters. There is hope that our politics won’t always be this way.

It is this optimism that I hear every day from voters across the country on the campaign trail, and it is what keeps me going — even in times like these. 

It is a reminder that Americans understand that we can and must do better. It is a reminder that we’ve got a real shot at winning this thing.
