Dear Friend,

This is a big deal. The infrastructure bill is a once in a generation opportunity to transform our nation, create millions of jobs, and rebuild our roads, bridges, and ports. The Infrastructure and Jobs Plan is also the single largest investment towards combating climate change in our history, with a focus on environmental justice and transitioning towards a carbon0free future.

In Virginia alone, we are expected to receive: 

  • $150 million annually for Metro to continue the federal investment in our region's transit system

  • $738 million to update our water infrastructure and guarantee every Virginian has access to safe, clean drinking water

  • $386 million for developing and upgrading our airports, including those critical to Northern Virginia

  • $106 million to expand our network of Electric Vehicle Charger

 

The Biden Infrastructure and Jobs Plan will move us towards a more green, equitable, and just future. I was proud to lead the fight in the House for its passage and have no doubt it will have a positive impact on the lives of every American in our Commonwealth and across our country.

Our success today makes it clear - when Democrats win, the American people win.
