When Republicans complained that my Democratic colleagues and I passed a $1.9 trillion COVID-relief bill, I said, "Damn right. Let's do more of that."

I came to the Senate to help people, and that's what we do when we make big plans and fight for them. We just passed a transformational infrastructure bill that will put millions of Americans back to work. We're on the verge of passing another transformative piece of legislation that will ease the burden of working families. Neither would have been possible without our majority, and I'm confident we'll win even bigger victories with that majority.

How long that majority will last is anyone's guess. If you cherry-pick news items, you'll see that one top-tier Republican just decided not to run. Two other Republicans who won national backing are now defending themselves against criminal allegations. That kind of disarray could make Democrats overconfident.

But remember: Republicans only need to flip ONE Democratic seat to take the majority. And with the tailwinds of Virginia at their backs, they have the momentum and the dark money backing they need to pull it off.
