I just watched President Biden sign the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law.

I am incredibly proud of the work we did together to make this moment possible. This bill is a generational advancement of our infrastructure that brings with it countless new jobs for Virginians. It isn’t very often we get to do such a profound amount of good in a single bill.

But I’m also reminded of an important fact. This moment would never have been possible without our Democratic majority in the senate.

This infrastructure bill includes the largest investment in public transit ever, the largest investment in passenger rail since Amtrak, and the largest investment in our bridges since the creation of the interstate highway system.

It’s going to give more Americans access to clean drinking water, clean energy options, and broadband internet.

Millions of lives are going to change because of this bill. It’s impact is going to be felt for decades to come. Those are the outcomes made possible by having Democratic control of the Senate.
