Ireland, the EU, and the U.S. Relationship in 2021 and Beyond
Thursday, November 18, at 12:00 p.m. ET

The United States and the European Union have always had an important relationship based on close personal ties, trade and shared values. Ireland, as an EU Member State with especially strong historical, political and trade links with the United States, works to play a positive role in building a strong and productive EU-US relationship. Join the Kennedy Institute, the Consulate General of Ireland in Boston and a panel of foreign policy experts as we discuss the EU-US relationship, how Ireland can play a positive role in sustaining it, and why the transatlantic partnership is still needed in 2021 – and beyond.

Moderated by Dr. Robert Mauro, Director of the Global Leadership Institute at Boston College, the conversation will include:

  • Ambassador Bobby McDonagh, author and Former Irish Ambassador to the EU, UK, and Italy
  • Tom Wright, Director of the Center on the United States and Europe, Brookings Institute
  • Fiona Creed, Lead Faculty, Global Studies & International Relations, Northeastern University
