Hi, John. It's Tiernan, Mark's Finance Director.

I'm reaching out with an update on our October fundraising goal because our deadline ends tomorrow at midnight and we still have some work to do.

I've been crunching the numbers, and we still need 4,868 more people to chip in order for us to hit our goal.

And it's especially important that we don't fall short, because an outside group just went up with a massive six-figure ad buy to support our opponent.

We need your help to counter this flood of outside spending, and it's going to take lots of people making donations of $3, $5, or $10 to get us there.

You can see what we're up against. So here's the part where I ask:

Will you make a $3 donation to our October fundraising deadline? This is important. We can't afford to come up short, especially when outside groups are willing to spend millions to defeat us.

Tomorrow at midnight, we're going to close out the month and pour over the data to see how we did.

And since our campaign isn't taking a dime of corporate PAC money, we're counting on the support from people like you to help us meet this goal.

So any amount you can give will go a long way towards helping Mark win this race.
