Just now, Republican Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced the States Reform Act. This bill repeals the federal prohibition of marijuana, expunges federal non-violent marijuana crimes, and promotes local ownership in the emerging regulated industry.

This comprehensive and sensible legislation to end federal marijuana criminalization deserves serious consideration. Between the previously passed MORE Act, the recent Senate proposal by Leader Schumer, and this new bill, it is truly a race to the top for the best ideas and smartest approaches to repeal the failed policy of marijuana prohibition.

Send a message to your House member in support of ending prohibition

The significance of having competing bills to end prohibition and to bring about relief to those who have suffered the indignity of having a criminal record or incarceration because of cannabis cannot be overstated.
