On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that the United States is considering using Israel's Iron Dome system on the island of Guam in defense of Chinese and North Korean missile threats. The Biden administration is planning to use this system to increase U.S. presence in the Pacific.
Also on Tuesday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the development of a new anti-aircraft missile system, called the S-550. While there are no other details on the system thus far, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the deployment of these systems as soon as possible is crucial.
On Monday, it was reported that Russia has begun supplying India with S-400 defense systems despite pressure from Washington to cancel the deal. The S-400 will give India the capability to engage long-range air threats.
Also on Monday, it was announced that Russia is in talks with Turkey regarding the development of advanced fighter jets. There has not been an agreement reached so far, but Russia has "expressed readiness to assist Turkey" in developing a 5th generation fighter jet.
