I recently announced my plan to Axe the Food Tax in Kansas -- and I want to take a moment to explain what that means.

Right now, Kansas is one of just seven states that has a tax on groceries -- and our food tax is one of the highest of those seven states.

That means Kansans are paying hundreds of extra dollars on groceries a year -- money that could be used for school supplies, bills, rent, or gas. But under my plan to Axe the Food Tax (yes, end it -- this isn't just a reduction or a rebate) we'll be able to put money back into the pockets of everyday Kansans. On average, a family of four will save up to $500 a year on their grocery bills.

But here's the deal, John: we won't be able to Axe the Food Tax without sharing this plan with Kansans in every corner of the state.
