December 7 is less than a month away and we need you to organize against the landlord- and developer-backed right-wing recall against Councilmember Sawant. It's no secret monied interests are afraid of someone who's fought for $15+, taxes on big business to fund human needs, investments in social and public housing, and holding police accountable (and defunding them too!). During the height of last year's rebellions, Councilmember Sawant did what most politicians were too afraid to do: 1) invite the People into the People's city hall and 2) hold elected officials like Mayor Durkan accountable for blocking justice for the family of Charleena Lyles through mass actions. Sawant exemplified putting democracy into practice by bringing people in and engaging with movements, not for a vote, but to build power together against exploitation.
Sometimes the sole vote, Sawant has had organized labor and Central Seattle's back for years. Can you make sure Seattle has hers? Commit to one of the following:
- Phonebank Tuesday at 5:30PM,
- Canvass Sunday from Judkins Park at 10 AM, -or-
- Attend the DSA National hosted rally at 4 PM on Sunday?
