In episode 4, Erin and I discuss technology and the role that it plays in our
families. Balancing the use of technology is one of the biggest challenges that
families face today. We talk about how we set personal boundaries with
technology and what expectations we are creating in our own family. 

 

The evidence is pretty clear — social media has a negative impact on society.
It has caused a generation of kids to grow up with higher levels of anxiety and
depression. Our mission as parents is to point our kids toward Jesus, and raise
up a generation of world changers, and technology is just one obstacle we face.

 

Parenting is trial and error, and we didn't arrive at our current views on
technology overnight. We have worked to limit our children's exposure to
technology like social media. It's easy to say "we limit our kid's exposure to
technology," but what do we replace it with?
