The truth is, this latest development makes our re-election campaign tougher. It sends a signal to the GOP donor base that this is the race they should invest their resources in as a top opportunity to flip a district red. We're already seeing increased spending against me as a result. More than $2 million has already been spent against me on TV just in 2021.

And after seeing the results of this month's elections, we can't take anything for granted.

After discussing this with my team, it's clear that we need to get out there and grow our campaign as soon as we can. That is only possible with the support of this grassroots team, but at the moment we are falling behind on our rapid response fundraising goal.
