Hi John, this is my final message to you about the problems with our court system.
We take for granted that workers are legally protected in their jobs, but unfortunately that isn’t true for thousands of workers in our federal judiciary system. They aren’t protected from harassment, discrimination, or other forms of misconduct.
In recent years, stories of improper conduct by judges have come to light:
-
Ninth Circuit Judge Stephen Reinhardt subjected attorneys to demeaning treatment and sexual harassment.
-
More than 15 women have accused Ninth Circuit judge Alex Kozinski of wide-ranging sexual misconduct.
-
U.S. District judge Carlos Murguia gave preferential and unwanted attention to female court employees and had an affair with a convicted felon.
Those who adjudicate our laws shouldn’t be above them, which is why Rep. Hank Johnson introduced the Judiciary Accountability Act. The bill will enact the same workplace protections that everyone else enjoys while protecting whistleblowers by prohibiting retaliation against them.
This is crucial work, along with all of the other reforms Hank is fighting for to fix our broken court system in Congress. If you believe, like I do, that reforming our justice system is necessary work, please donate to Hank’s campaign to keep him as a champion in Congress.

Thank you,
Alyssa Milano
