Friend – I must put this bluntly: Every dollar we raise, every grassroots fundraising goal we set, matters immensely in protecting this Senate seat and keeping control of the Senate with Democrats. But right now, I'm falling $9,475 short of what I need to raise by my mid-month fundraising deadline, and I won't mince words. I'm worried.

There's been plenty of punditry and analysis of what happened in Virginia, but I want you to hear this straight from me: It's a wake-up call for how close elections will be across the country, including in Connecticut. In fact, a top political analyst is now saying the political environment favors Republicans "comfortably taking back both the House and Senate." Furthermore, experts at Sabato's Crystal Ball have moved even more Democratic held Senate seats to the "toss-up" category, meaning the map is growing more favorable to a Republican Senate majority.

*We cannot let that happen, Friend. *

Only with Senate control have we been able to move major legislation to revive our economy and get the American people the relief and vaccinations they need to conquer the COVID pandemic. Only with Senate control have we been able to begin confirming qualified federal judges after years of Donald Trump massacring our judicial branch of government. And only with Senate control can we investigate former Trump White House aides, allies, members of Congress, and even Donald Trump himself for their roles in the Jan. 6 attacks on our Capitol.

If we lose Senate control, all of that disappears, and Mitch McConnell once again fills the courts and calls the shots in Washington. That's why I'm counting on you to help me fight for this seat, win, and protect Democratic Senate control, Friend.
