We need to address the elephant in the room.
I am grateful that you have decided to stand for voting rights and come to a resolution with Senate Democrats to pass voting rights legislation.
But the filibuster that you continue to support will block it from ever being passed!
I truly understand your desire for bipartisanship. I wish ALL elected officials, regardless of party, would fight for the voting rights of all Americans.
But in today’s Senate, the filibuster is NOT a path towards bipartisanship. It is a path towards minority rule, complete gridlock, and obstruction.
We can’t sit and wait for the perpetrators of voter suppression to come around and join us in the fight to protect voting rights. It will NEVER happen.
