Congresswoman Lesko Weekly Update

Good Afternoon,

This week, I was back home in Arizona. It was wonderful to be home and to take this week to reflect on the service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans. Our district is proud to be home to nearly 70,000 veterans. On Veterans Day and every day, we honor their brave service to our nation.

Legislative Update

This week, I introduced a bill to prohibit federal funds from being used for vaccine mandates. The Biden Administration's COVID-19 vaccine mandates are a major government overreach. I introduced this bill to ensure that taxpayer dollars are not used to enforce these or other vaccine mandates. As a member of Congress, I will always stand up for the personal liberties of my constituents and all Americans.

GET THE FACTS: Inflation Hit a 31-Year High

As you’ve likely heard, inflation has hit a 31-year high. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the annual rate of inflation increased 8.6% in October. Americans haven’t witnessed inflation levels this high since 1991! Because of the Democrats' disastrous policies, Americans are finding it difficult to feed their families, buy gasoline, and keep a roof over their heads.

Michael from our office attended the 7^th Annual City of Surprise Veterans Day Parade. Our office was proud to honor and celebrate our veterans! 

Monica from our office attended a Veterans Day ceremony in Glendale, AZ. Our office is always proud to commemorate our courageous veterans! 

Austin from our office attended a Veterans Day ceremony in Peoria, AZ. It was an honor for our office to celebrate these heroes and their service to our nation.

Congressional Recognitions

My office presented the Sun City Posse with a Congressional Recognition for all of the great work they have done to keep our community safe. Thank you for your service!

It was an honor to present the Arizona Fire and Medical Authority with a Congressional Recognition for all they do to keep the citizens of Arizona safe!

Monica from our office toured the Desert Mirage Alpaca Ranch Farm in Wittmann, AZ. Arizona’s 8^th Congressional District is proud to be home to a variety of farms! 

Monica from our office attended a ribbon cutting for Rotchford and Associates in Sun City, AZ. Welcome to the 8^th Congressional District!

Monica from our office attended the Governor’s Reception at Arizona Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting. I’m so proud of the work the AZ Farm Bureau does to advocate for Arizona’s farmers! 

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office after she could not get an answer from the Social Security Administration regarding her disability claim. Our office contacted the Social Security Administration and we successfully got her claim that had been in their system for over a year processed. The constituent recently started receiving her new monthly benefit payment as a result of the decision.

Mobile Office Hours

Our office is hosting mobile office hours on November 15, 2021, at the Goodyear Library Community Room from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM AZ time. Our casework team is ready to answer your questions and assist you with a federal agency.
