Hi John,

The trial of Kyle Rittenhouse has rightly been getting a lot of attention.

But there’s another trial that deserves attention and hasn’t been getting it: the trial of the killers of Ahmaud Arbery. Arbery was out jogging on February 23, 2020 when three white men shot him dead: killed for jogging while Black. They claim they thought he was a burglar, despite having no evidence of Arbery committing a crime.

The trial of Arbery’s killers is already off to a bad start. Only one of the jurors is Black, and one of the defense attorneys said he doesn’t want “any more Black pastors” in the court after Rev. Al Sharpton sat with Arbery’s family in court.

All this is happening in the midst of books on history and racism being banned from schools across this country.

I’m not asking for money today. I’m just asking you to keep your eyes open. And consider getting involved with your local school board and library board, if you’re not already.
