While progressives fought to hold the line and secure the future of Medicare expansion, paid family leave, and climate action, Democratic mega-donors threatened to withhold midterm contributions until Democrats passed the Republican-backed infrastructure bill. Just check out this Newsweek headline:

What the donors want, the donors get — even if it’s not in the interest of working people. At the whim of big donors and special interests, Democrats pushed through the infrastructure bill, without fighting for the accompanying Build Back Better reconciliation bill.

That is unacceptable.

We need to elect true leaders to Congress. Members who will fight for the people — not the donors or special interests. We have a shot at electing 5 more Justice Democrats to expand our coalition and grow the power of progressives in Congress. Will you chip in $3 to support their elections?

AOC, Ilhan, Ayanna, Rashida, Cori, and Jamaal all voted no on the infrastructure bill to protect investments for working people. (And the big Democratic donors aren’t happy about it).

When Democratic mega-donors say they are tired of “infighting,” they mean that they are tired of progressives standing up for the people and not caving to obstructionist Democrats like Joe Manchin or Kyrsten Sinema.

We are sick and tired of big donors calling the shots! If you agree, will you chip in $3? It’s clear the Democratic party is dysfunctional and that to transform into a party that works for the people, we need more members of Congress like the Squad.
